Timneh African Grey

(Psittacus Erithacus Timneh)

Its not a secret anymore, the Timneh African Grey is just as talkative as its larger cousin. With a brownish wash over the bright red tail feathers, the Timneh's tail appears more maroon than red. Its upper beak is black tipped, lower beak solid black, and they are smaller than the Congo Grey, but there stops the big differences. Usually less inclined to feather abuse and nervous behaviors the Timneh are becoming a big hit on the companion parrot market. These wonderful parrots may learn to talk even earlier than their cousins, and might be more inclined to talk around strangers. For all these reasons the Timneh is fast becoming the popular parrot of choice.
