Chestnut-Fronted or Severe Macaw

One of the most darling Macaws available, the Severe Macaw is a big bird packed in a nice manageable package. Though they are small, dont count on this being an "easy" parrot, as all Macaws come with a Macaw personality, and really do not do well when living with humans who dont understand them. The smaller size of the Severe is wonderful though, making them easier to care for and easing the requirements of space in your home. Although small, they do have rather loud voices and are not usually very good cantidates for apartment life. Like any parrot, these dumplings of the Macaw world need lots of exercise, stimulation, toys, and attention in order to remain healthy and happy family companions. Usually weighing in at somewhere in the range of 350-450 grams, and only measuring 19-22", these are the Macaw for the person who loves Macaws but is unable to live with one of its larger cousins.
