Feathered Family Inc.

Hi, I'm Sammy! I'm a lovebird of course, and the humans at Feathered Family think I'm a girl, at least for now! (On 08/24/05 Sammy proved she is indeed a girl, she laid an egg.)

I'm here at Feathered Family because I flew into someone's lap at a restaurant. I was lucky, since that someone was a veterinarian and he took care of me. He found me a foster home, but they couldn't keep me forever because I was making their lovebird be a real grump... that happens when you have two lovebirds together sometimes. I also bit a lot while I was living with them, you might not know it but these little beaks can be awful sharp!

I'm still pretty nervous, but I let the folks at Feathered Family pet me right away. I don't like to step up to bare hands, I would rather bite them, but I do step up to a hand with a towel draped across it very well. I also love to burrow under towels and play hide and seek! I get to meet Feathered Family's vet soon, so I can get his all clear to start looking for a new home. I really hope someone out there likes lovebirds who bite sometimes, because I was obviously a pet in the past and I would really like to be one again. Give me a chance, I'm a good girl at heart.

I got to move to my new bigger cage, and I have been told that I am healthy.

I have really worked hard and become a much sweeter bird than I pretended to be when I arrived. I would like to have a home where I can have lots of time with a person who likes to scratch my head. I also really love toys, they help keep me busy and happy!
