The gorgeous Red Front Macaw is smaller than some of its cousins, but not as small as a mini macaw. Usually weighing in at around 450 grams, they are about half the size of a Blue and Gold macaw. These little wonders are packed with personality though, and known to be very mechanical. I've heard reports of Red Front's who have disassembled their cage once a day every day for a week until the new cage the owners had ordered arrived! Their voice is reportedly pleasant, and they are said to be gentle birds. The Red Front macaws joy for life and playful personality is making it a much more popular bird than it once was. As with all macaws they will need a healthy diet, lots of wonderful chewable toys, and plenty of attention.

Red Front Macaws are highly endangered and captive breeding is key to keeping this species available for your children and grandchildren to know.
