Mustached Parakeet, or Java Mustached Parakeet

The uncommon parakeet, Mustached parakeet. These lovely little parrots are beloved by people the world over for their steady personalities, enjoyable talk, and intelligent nature. Though closely related to the ringneck parakeets the nature of this bird is far different. Their voices are reported to be rather clear and understandable, although it has been said that they do not talk as much as some of the others in this catagory. With an average lifespan of 20-50 years, it is easy to see that these little birds are a lifetime commitment, and should be treated as one. Their long tails and acrobatics require larger caging than other birds of the same size, but they are well worth the work. The payoff comes in having a wonderful little feathered companion for a long time, who you will truly enjoy living with.
