Dusky Conure or Weddell's Conure

(Aratinga weddelli)

The Dusky Conure is not one of the better known Conures, but it should be. Beautiful little parrots, who are packed full of playful personality these darlings are starting to catch on. When mature, these gorgeous birds are around 11 inches long and weigh in the range of four ounces.  In the wild they live in large flocks, and thus, in our homes the need to be part of the family or flock is strong and should be fulfilled. The Dusky conure loves to climb and play, and should be provided with lots of chances to do so. They are intelligent little birds who can speak and learn tricks easily. The Dusky Conure is becoming more and more avialable and should be easy to find if one is interested in adding one to your flock.
