Conures
The Conures raised in captivity today are well suited to become companion parrots. With great voices and a willingness to talk in front of strangers these little parrots are fast appearing in homes around the United States. They have starred in stage and screen shows, helping us all to fall in love with them. Don't get a conure expecting it to be the star you saw in the movies though, each one is an individual and will only learn what it learns. The best reason to get a conure is because you have decided that you can share your life with this wonderful little parrot. With so many subspecies of Conure to choose from you can easily find one to fit not only your lifestyle, but your budget too. Keep in mind, as with all companion parrots, these are not adorable cage decorations, but living creatures who will need time and energy on your part to keep them healthy and happy.
It is important to note that Conures of the Aratinga variety are known for extremely loud voices. Anyone considering adding one of these beautiful but high volume birds needs to have a very good tolerance for noise.
