Blue-Crowned Conure
(Aritinga Acuticaudata)
These wonderful little parrots have perhaps the best reputation of all the conures. It is said among those who keep and breed these little wonders that they are extremely affectionate, and that it is quite uncommon for them to bite hard. Like all of their conure brothers, the Blue-Crowned enjoys bathing, and will happily spend its time splashing away in any water it can find. With a reputation for being intelligent and good talkers, the single downfall of these darlings is their reputation for being extremely loud birds. We also find it important to warn people that though known for being gentle and docile parrots, the blue crowned conure is known to go through a "nippy" stage when juvinile, which can be trying. Once through this stage they generally return to being the loving birds they are so reputed to be.

Thank you Esther, for sharing your photos of lovely Kito with us!
