Hello! We are glad you'd like to adopt a parrot from Feathered Family. Please understand that filling out the form below is only the start of the process, and that any party who does come under consideration for adoption will have to submit to a home visit, and will have to do planned and scheduled visits with the bird they are matched to.

We have been having wonderful success with our Assisted Adoptions program, so keep those applications coming. If you haven't yet read about the program, please go back to THIS PAGE and read about it before submitting your application.

Incomplete applications do not qualify for review and are discarded. Please be sure to check over your application fully before submitting it. Please do not submit more than one application, as multiple submissions are often discarded also. If a part of the form does not apply to you, please put N/A in that area. Do not leave any area blank, blank forms are auto-rejected by our server.

We require you have a relationship with an avian vet, or know of a vet which you will be using before any part of the adoption process can begin. This is to ensure the health and safety of the birds. If you are approved for adoption you will be required to take the bird to an avian vet within 10 days, a current relationship with one is a must have. In addition we require the following:

You must be at least 18 years of age.
You must live in the state of Colorado.
You must not have purchased, adopted or otherwise acquired another bird within the past 18 months.
You must have the financial means to support the bird you wish to adopt. If you are unemployed we will be asking how you support yourself and would support the bird.
You must supply both veterinarian references as well as personal references.
You must be willing to participate in bonding visits with the bird if your pre-screening is approved.

Remember, applications that are incomplete are NOT eligible for consideration.
